The program is approved by the Department of Health in Arkansas, and the credit hours can be used toward a nursing degree later on if a student wishes to continue his or her career.


  • Phillips Community College- Located in DeWitt, this college offers a CNA training program for students who are at least 18 years old. 10 credits are given to those who pass the CNA training course. For Arkansas residents, the cost is generally $570 to $670, plus additional costs for books, scrubs, and drug testing. Regardless of whether you live in the DeWitt district, you can take advantage of this CNA training class and earn credits toward a nursing degree.


  • North Arkansas College- Located in Harrison, North Arkansas College offers a six credit, 120 hours CNA training course that covers all the basic skills necessary for a student to become a CNA. Both day and evening classes are offered, with day classes lasting for 3 weeks and night classes lasting for 5 and a half weeks.   • South Arkansas Community College- This CNA training program in El Dorado is offered to students who are really serious about starting a career in the medical field. Upon completion, students receive 15 credit hours! If you are interested in this CNA training program, you must complete a background check, drug test, and TB skin test. You must also provide three references on your application. Part of this course may also be completed online if you are interested in studying from home.
