A Certified Nurses Assistant (or Licensed Nurses Assistant as it is known as in Vermont) is an exciting entry level job to start out in. Healthcare is a fast growing field with all the baby boomers aging. As a CNA, you will be responsible for assisting a nurse in taking care of and monitoring patients. Free CNA Training in Vermont

Scholarships and Grants- There are several different colleges and other CNA training schools in Vermont that offer scholarships, grants and financial aid. Each institution has a different application and approval process so you will need to contact the school you wish to attend to find out about their specific criteria. Reimbursement- If you are currently employed by a healthcare facility, they may offer to pay for you to take CNA training courses.  Each facility is different. Some require you to sign a contract stating that you will stay with them for so many years where others will reimburse you after you have been with the company for so long. Either way, it doesn’t hurt to ask your employer if they provide financial assistants.

Red Cross- If you live in Vermont, the American Red Cross also offers free CNA training to some individuals. The funding for this training comes from a grant by the Vermont Student Assistance Program. There are a few requirements needed to receive this grant so contact your local Red Cross to see if you qualify.
Nursing Homes- CNA training can often be paid for by a nursing home. Usually the nursing home will hire you on and either pay for your training or pay you to work while you get your CNA training.
