This type of uncomfortable workplace scenario is something that happens to everyone, at one time or another. No one is immune. However, most of the time, these problems are quite easy to rectify.

CNA Training Covers How to Handle Mistakes

Everyone makes mistakes. It’s a way of life. Making an error is not necessarily a sign of incompetence. This is especially true when the error is something along the lines of forgetting a co-worker’s name or taking a break at the wrong time.

More serious mistakes include things like adding the incorrect information to a patient’s chart or mixing up medications. Unfortunately, these are instances that might end up in termination, depending on level of severity.

Always admit to your mistake, as soon as you realize what’s happened. If you can’t correct it yourself, ask a supervisor or person in charge for assistance. Never try to cover it up or blame someone else for the problem. It will ultimately make things worse.

CNA Training Covers Difficult Patients

Caring for a difficult patient is frustrating for everyone involved. Whether the person is just having a bad day or is uncooperative on a continuous basis, it poses the same unique challenge.

As a professional CNA training graduate, do all you can to sympathize with the patient. Let them know you truly understand how they feel and that you are only trying to make them as comfortable as possible.

If after several attempts you are still met with resistance, consider asking to be reassigned to someone else. Supervisors understand that personalities sometimes clash and that no manner how hard you try to improve the situation the patient is not willing to comply.

There’s nothing worse than getting in the middle of “office politics.”  Chances are quite high that it will only exacerbate the problem. That being said, it is best to remain neutral when such controversy occurs.

If a co-worker asks you to participate, remember, as a respected CNA training graduate, you have job duties to perform and that you prefer to avoid unnecessary conflict.

CNA Training Covers Sexual Harassment Issues

In the event you ever find yourself a victim of sexual harassment, while at work, you need to do something about it immediately. Talk to the individual who is bothering you.  Demand that they stop the harassment or your only choice will be to report them.

If it continues, do just that. Report them to your supervisor or other administrative personnel who has the authority to remedy the situation.

 There may come a time that you find yourself in the running for a promotion. It will no doubt be a stressful time, especially if several of your co-workers are also being considered. If you aren’t chosen, don’t let it get you down. Doing so, might affect your work performance and that’s the last thing you want to happen. A CNA training graduate should always stay positive. Continue to do your best and look forward to the possibility of a promotion in the future.

Remember, workplace harmony is very hard to achieve. The good news is that your CNA training will go a long way in teaching you simple solutions to a variety of problems that might occur on a day-to-day basis and nothing is usually as bad as it seems.
